Deliciously Golden Applesauce

Count this easy, homemade applesauce as your apple for the day. It's the perfect complement to Toasty Breakfast Pockets or French Toast Dippers.


  • 6 medium golden delicious apples (about 2 pounds)
  • 1 cup apple juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice


  1. Peel, core and slice apples using Apple Peeler/Corer/Slicer and place apples on Cutting Board. Cut apples in half crosswise with Quikut Paring Knife

  2. Place apple slices, apple juice and lemon juice in (3-qt.) Saucepan and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat to medium and cook 10 minutes, stirring occasionally with Bamboo Spoon

  3. Remove pan from heat and place on Hot Pad/Trivet. Using Nylon Masher, carefully mash apple mixture until it is as smooth as you like it. 

  4. Let applesauce cool to room temperature. Spoon into air-tight container and store in refrigerator.

Cook's Tips:

For cinnamon-flavored applesauce, sprinkle each serving with ground cinnamon or combine 1 tablespoon sugar and 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon in Flour/Sugar Shaker and sprinkle over applesauce. 

For fresh lemon juice, roll a lemon firmly between the palm of your hand and Cutting Board. Cut a thin slice off the stem end of lemon using Quikut Paring Knife. Push spout from Lemon Aid into cut end of lemon by twisting downward. Open spout lid and squeeze for juice.
