You can substitute the ground beef in this Meatball Pizza with ground turkey to reduct the fat.

    5-Minute Dough
  • 1½ cups (375 mL) flour, plus more for dusting
  • 2 tsp (10 mL) Italian Seasoning Mix
  • 1½ tsp (7 mL) baking powder
  • ½ tsp (2 mL) salt
  • ¼ tsp (1 mL) baking soda
  • 1 cup (250 mL) plain low-fat Greek yogurt
    Pizza Toppings
  • ½   yellow onion, divided
  • ½ lb. (250 g) ground beef
  • 3   garlic cloves, pressed
  • 2 oz. (60 g) Parmesan cheese, finely grated (1 cup/250 mL), divided
  • 1 tbsp (15 mL) olive oil, divided
  • 1½ tsp (7 mL) Italian Seasoning Mix
  •  Cornmeal for dusting
  • ½ cup (125 mL) pizza sauce
  • 4 oz. (125 g) mozzarella cheese, coarsely grated (1 cup/250 mL)

  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).

  2. In a large bowl, mix the dry ingredients together; stir in the yogurt. On a floured surface, knead the dough until well combined, about 4 minutes. Shape the dough into a ball, wrap it in plastic, and set aside.

  3. Finely chop part of onion to measure ¼ cup (60 mL); slice the rest.

  4. Mix the ground beef, chopped onion, and garlic with ¼ cup (60 mL) of Parmesan, 1 tsp (5 mL) of seasoning, and 1 tsp (5 mL) of olive oil until well combined. Shape into balls using 1 tbsp (15 mL) of mixture for each meatball.

  5. Heat the remaining oil in a large skillet over medium heat for 3 minutes. Place the meatballs and sliced onion on separate sides of the pan. Cook until the onions soften and the meatballs brown, about 4 minutes, turning halfway through. Remove from the heat and set aside.

  6. On a floured surface, roll the dough into a 12" (30-cm) disc. Place the rolled-out dough onto a cornmealdusted pizza stone or baking sheet.

  7. Top the dough with pizza sauce, mozzarella, and the remaining Parmesan cheese. Sprinkle the remaining ½ tsp (2 mL) of seasoning on top of the cheese, then top with the meatballs and onions. Bake until the cheese has melted and the crust has browned, 14–16 minutes.
