Pressure Cooker Bolognese
Ingredients
- 1–1½ lbs. (450–700 g) lean ground beef
- 1 jar (12 oz. or 340 g) Bolognese Meal Starter
- 1 cup (250 mL) water
- 12 oz. (350 g) cooked pasta
- ¼ cup (60 mL) cream (optional)
Directions
Set the Quick Cooker to SEAR; press START. Brown 1–1½ lbs. (450–700 g) lean ground beef.* Press CANCEL.
Add one jar of the Bolognese Meal Starter and 1 cup (250 mL) water. Lock the lid and set to CUSTOM. Adjust the time to 5 minutes; press START. When the timer is up, let the pressure release naturally for 10 minutes. Then, press the steam-release button.
Add 12 oz. (350 g) cooked pasta and ¼ cup (60 mL) cream (optional) to the sauce and serve.
Cook's Tips:
*Safety Tip: The stainless steel inner pot will be hot during and after cooking. Use a long-handled utensil when stirring and removing food.
Microwave: Add ground beef into the Rockcrok® Dutch Oven or the Rockcrok® Everyday Pan and microwave, covered, on HIGH for 7-8 minutes, using the Mix ‘N Chop halfway through to break up the meat. Drain the meat and add the Bolognese Meal Starter and ½ cup (125 mL) of water. Replace lid and microwave for an additional 2 minutes.
Stovetop: Preheat a 12" Nonstick Skillet for 3 minutes over medium heat and add the ground beef. Cook for 5-8 minutes or until fully cooked through, using the Mix' N Chop to break up the meat. Add the Bolognese Meal Starter and ½ cup (125 mL) of water and simmer for 2-3 minutes over medium-low heat.
Slow Cooker: Add the ground beef and Bolognese Meal Starter to the Rockcrok® Dutch Oven or the Rockcrok® Everyday Pan. Transfer the Rockcrok® into the Rockcrok® Slow Cooker Stand and cook for 2 hours on HIGH (or 4 hours on LOW), breaking up the meat with the Mix ‘N Chop halfway through.
