Pronto Pizza Patties
Everybody loves pizza, so incorporating the flavors of pizza into these open-faced sandwiches will surely win raves.
- 1 pound 93% lean ground turkey
- 1/2 cup seasoned dry bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup diced green bell pepper
- 1/4 finely chopped onion
- 1 garlic clove, pressed
- 1 egg white
- 1 can (8 ounces) pizza sauce, divided
- 1/2 cup (4 ounces) shredded reduced-fat mozzarella cheese
- 6 French or Italian bread slices, cut 1/2 inch thick
- 2 teaspoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning Mix
Form mixture into six oval patties, 1/2 inch thick. Cook patties in (12-in.) Skillet over medium heat 12-14 minutes or until meat is no longer pink in center, turning once. About 1 minute before patties are done, top with cheese. Remove patties from skillet; keep warm.
Wipe skillet clean with paper towel. Brush one side of each bread slice with olive oil; sprinkle with seasoning mix. Place bread slices seasoned side down in skillet. Toast 1-2 minutes over medium heat or until bread is lightly browned.
Place patties on bread slices. Place remaining pizza sauce in Small Micro-Cooker®; microwave, covered, on HIGH 45-60 seconds or until heated through. Serve with sandwiches.

Italian seasoning can be substituted for the Italian Seasoning Mix, if desired.
You can prepare and shape these burgers in advance. Wrap tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate up to 1 day in advance.
