Apple Dessert Pizza
This special dessert pizza has a tender cookie crust that bakes to perfection on your Medium Round Stone with Handles. You probably have all the ingredients on hand, too.
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons sugar, divided
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup reduced-calorie stick margarine
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 4 medium Granny Smith apples
- 1/2 cup apricot preserves
Preheat oven to 350°F. In Classic Batter Bowl, combine flour, 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder and salt. Cut in spread using Pastry Blender until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add combined egg and water; stir until mixture forms a ball of dough.
Place dough in center of Medium Round Stone with Handles. Using Baker's Roller®, roll dough into a 12-inch circle creating 1/2-inch lip around edge. Combine remaining 2 tablespoons sugar and cinnnamon in Flour/Sugar Shaker. Sprinkle over bottom of crust.
Peel, core and slice apples with Apple Peeler/Corer/Slicer; cut apples in half. Arrange slices over crust beginning at outside edge overlapping closely. Fill center with remaining slices to form blossom shape. Bake 40 minutes or until apples are tender and crust is light golden brown. Remove to Stackable Cooling Rack.
Heat apricot preserves in microwave on HIGH 30-45 seconds or until melted. Brush over warm apples and crust with Chef's Silicone Basting Brush. Serve warm or cool, cutting into wedges with Slice 'N Serve®.
