Give frozen meatballs an easy weeknight makeover with a boost from flavor-packed glaze. It’s a fun twist on traditional spaghetti and meatballs!

Ingredients

    Meatballs
  • 1-1½ lbs. (700–740 g) frozen meatballs
  • ½ cup (125 mL) low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1   red bell pepper, seeded and thinly sliced
  • 2   green onions, sliced, greens and whites divided
  •  Optional: Rice noodles, cilantro, chopped peanuts, lime wedges
    Sauce
  • ¼ cup (60 mL) low-sodium soy sauce
  • ¼ cup (60 mL) low-sodium chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp (30 mL) honey
  • 1 tbsp (15 mL) Crunchy Garlic Crisp Seasoning Mix, plus additional for topping
  • 1 tbsp (15 mL) rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp (15 mL) cornstarch

Directions

  1. Place the frozen meatballs and chicken broth in a large skillet. Cover and cook over medium heat until heated through, about 10–12 minutes, tossing occasionally.
  2. Add the peppers and whites of the green onions to the pan. Cook until the peppers are softened, about 5 minutes, tossing occasionally.
  3. Whisk all the sauce ingredients together in a small bowl.
  4. Pour the sauce over the meatballs and cook over low heat until the sauce is thickened, about 1 minute.
  5. Serve the meatballs with cooked rice noodles or rice. Top with the reserved green onions, chopped peanuts, cilantro, and lime wedges, if you’d like. Finish with a sprinkle of seasoning mix.
