Honey-Garlic Glazed Meatballs
Give frozen meatballs an easy weeknight makeover with a boost from flavor-packed glaze. It’s a fun twist on traditional spaghetti and meatballs!
Ingredients
- Meatballs
- 1-1½ lbs. (700–740 g) frozen meatballs
- ½ cup (125 mL) low-sodium chicken broth
- 1 red bell pepper, seeded and thinly sliced
- 2 green onions, sliced, greens and whites divided
- Optional: Rice noodles, cilantro, chopped peanuts, lime wedges
- Sauce
- ¼ cup (60 mL) low-sodium soy sauce
- ¼ cup (60 mL) low-sodium chicken broth
- 2 tbsp (30 mL) honey
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) Crunchy Garlic Crisp Seasoning Mix, plus additional for topping
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) cornstarch
Directions
- Place the frozen meatballs and chicken broth in a large skillet. Cover and cook over medium heat until heated through, about 10–12 minutes, tossing occasionally.
- Add the peppers and whites of the green onions to the pan. Cook until the peppers are softened, about 5 minutes, tossing occasionally.
- Whisk all the sauce ingredients together in a small bowl.
- Pour the sauce over the meatballs and cook over low heat until the sauce is thickened, about 1 minute.
- Serve the meatballs with cooked rice noodles or rice. Top with the reserved green onions, chopped peanuts, cilantro, and lime wedges, if you’d like. Finish with a sprinkle of seasoning mix.
