Even though chili is delicious on its own, to take chili night up a notch, set up a chili bar so everyone can add their own toppings: cheese, chopped onions, sour cream, and jalapeños. You can also use this flavorful mix for nachos, seven-layer dip, tacos, and more!

Ways to Use

Chili

  • Heat 1 tbsp (15 mL) of oil in a large pot over medium heat for 2 minutes.
  • Add 1 chopped onion and cook until soft, 3-5 minutes.
  • Add 1 lb. (450 g) ground beef or turkey. Break into crumbles while cooking until mostly browned, 8-10 minutes: drain if necessary.
  • Add:
    • 1 pkg. Chili Meal Mix
    • 1 can (28 oz./794 mL) diced tomatoes, undrained
    • 1 can (15 oz./398 mL) black beans or kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • Bring to a boil.
  • Reduce the heat and simmer, uncovered, for 18020 minutes. Seasons with salt to taste.

Slow Cooker Chili

  1. 1. Heat 1 tbsp (15 mL) oil on medium heat for 3-4 minutes.
  2. 2. Add 1 chopped onion and cook about 4-5 minutes until softened. Add 1 lb. (450 g) ground beef or ground turkey, and cook until browned 7-8 minutes.
  3. 3. Add:
    • 1 pkt. Chili Meal Mix
    • 1 can (28 oz./794 mL) diced tomatoes, undrained
    • 1 can (15 oz./398 mL) black beans or kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  4. 4. Cook on HIGH for 4 hours or LOW for 8.

For Tacos, add 2 tbsp (30 mL) while browning your meat.

To make vegetarian, add double the beans. Try 1 can black beans and 1 can kidney, or two of both!

Pressure Cooker Chili

  1. 1. Set an electric pressure cooker to SEAR and press START. Heat 1 tbsp (15 mL) oil in the inner pot for 3 minutes.
  2. 2. Add 1 chopped onion; cook and stir about 3 minutes. Add 1 lb. (450 g) ground beef or ground turkey; cook until well browned, 5-7 minutes.
  3. 3. Add:
    • 1 pkt Chili Meal Mix
    • 1 can (28 oz./794 mL) diced tomatoes, undrained
    • 1 can (15 oz./398 mL) black beans or kidney beans, drained and rinsed
    • 1 cup (250 mL) water
  4. 4. Lock the lid and select the SOUP/STOCK setting. Adjust the time to 8 minutes and press START.
  5. 5. When the timer is up, press CANCEL. Let the steam release naturally for 10 minutes. Press the steam-release button to release any remaining pressure.
