Ways to Use

Pressure Cooker Chicken & Dumplings

  • Whisk the seasoning mix and 4 cups (1 L) of water or chicken broth together in a large bowl.
  • To an electric pressure cooker add:
    • 2 lbs. (1 kg) boneless, skinless chicken breasts
    • 4 medium carrots, chopped
    • Seasoning/water mixture
  • Cook on the SOUP/STOCK setting for 6 minutes. When the timer is up, naturally release the pressure for 10 minutes.
  • Remove the chicken from the pot and chop. Stir in ¾ cup (175 mL) frozen peas and 2 cups (500 mL) water or broth.
  • Bring to a simmer on the SEAR setting and drop in 5 premade biscuits, cut into 8 pieces each. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the biscuits are cooked through, 4–6 minutes. Return the chicken to the pot and serve.

 

Stovetop Cooker Chicken & Dumplings

  • Whisk the seasoning mix and 4 cups (1 L) of water or chicken broth together in a large bowl.
  • Add to a large pot:
    • 2 lbs. (1 kg) boneless, skinless chicken breasts
    • 4 medium carrots, chopped
    • Seasoning and water mixture
  • Bring to a simmer. Cook until the chicken reaches 165°;F (74°C), 14–16 minutes.
  • Remove the chicken from the pot and chop. Stir in ¾ cup (175 mL) peas and bring to a simmer. 
  • Drop in 5 premade biscuits, cut into 8 pieces each and cook, stirring occasionally until the biscuits are cooked through, 4–6 minutes. Return the chicken to the pot and serve.
