Make-Ahead Seasoned Ground Beef


  • 2 pounds lean (90%) ground beef
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1   garlic clove, pressed
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 cans (8 ounces each) tomato sauce


  1. Place ground beef in (12-in.) Skillet. Cook over medium heat 10-12 minutes or until no longer pink, breaking beef into crumbles; drain.

  2. Add onion and garlic pressed with Garlic Press; sprinkle with salt and black pepper. Continue cooking 2-3 minutes or until onion is tender. Stir in tomato sauce. Remove skillet from heat.

  3. Cover and refrigerate for up to 2 days for use in Sloppy Joe's Pocket Sandwiches and Taco-Topped Potatoes.
