Ingredients

  • 2 pkg dessert shells (5 oz/152 g each) (12 shells total)
  • 3 tbsp (45 mL) butter
  •  Powdered sugar (optional)
VARIATION CHEESE CHOCOLATE FRUIT
STRAWBERRIES & CREAM 6 oz (175 g) softened mascarpone cheese (⅔ cup/150 mL) ¼ cup (50 mL) dark chocolate morsels ¾ cup (175 mL) fresh strawberries, sliced
RASPBERRIES & GOAT CHEESE 6 oz (175 g) softened goat cheese (⅔ cup/150 mL) ¼ cup (50 mL) white chocolate morsels ¾ cup (175 mL) fresh raspberries
BLUEBERRY CHEESECAKE 6 oz (175 g) softened cream cheese (⅔ cup/150 mL) ¼ cup (50 mL) white chocolate morsels ¾ cup (175 mL) fresh blueberries

Directions

  1. Choose a variation. Let the cheese come to room temperature or microwave it for 10 seconds to soften, making sure it doesn’t overheat. In a small bowl, mix together the cheese and chocolate morsels.

  2. Place one dessert shell at a time in the Close & Cut and slice in half using the Coated Bread Knife. Repeat with the remaining shells and place the cut shells on two Flexible Cutting Mats with the well side facing up.

  3. Use the Small Scoop to place one scoop of cheese mixture in the center of each well. Press a few pieces of fruit on top of the cheese.

  4. Top with the other half of the shell, cut-side up.

  5. Microwave the butter in a small microwave-safe bowl for 15–30 seconds, or until melted.

  6. Preheat the Executive Nonstick Double Burner Griddle over medium heat for 1–3 minutes. Brush half of the melted butter on the pan. Place the sandwiches into the pan and brush the tops with the remaining butter.

  7. Cook for 1–2 minutes, or until the dessert shells turn light golden brown, carefully turning halfway through cooking.

  8. Remove the dessert shells from the griddle and place them on the Large Entertaining Platter. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Cook's Tips:

Dessert shells can sometimes be tricky to cut evenly, but the Close & Cut makes it easier. If only using a knife, make sure to leave the well intact so it can hold all the yummy filling.
