Peanutty Crunch Cake

The lovely shape of our Stoneware Fluted Pan lets you turn every cake into one that's really special.

  • 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/3 cup chopped dry-roasted peanuts
  • 1 package (18.25 ounces) butter recipe yellow cake mix (plus ingredients to make cake)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3-4 teaspoons water
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F. Spray Stoneware Fluted Pan with canola oil using Kitchen Spritzer. For cake, combine flour and brown sugar in Classic Batter Bowl. Cut in peanut butter with Pastry Blender until mixture resembles coarse crumbs; stir in peanuts chopped with Food Chopper.

  2. Sprinkle half of the peanut butter mixture evenly over bottom of pan. Prepare cake mix according to package directions. Using Mix 'N Scraper®, carefully spoon half of the batter over peanut butter mixture in pan; spread evenly. Sprinkle remaining peanut butter mixture over batter in pan; cover with remaining batter.

  3. Bake 60-70 minutes or until wooden pick inserted near center comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Loosen cake from sides and center tube of pan. Invert onto Stackable Cooling Rack; remove pan. Cool completely.

  4. For glaze, combine powdered sugar, water and vanilla; whisk until smooth using Stainless Whisk. Drizzle glaze over cake.

Cook's Tips:

Sliced thin and spread with jelly, this fluted cake makes a neat peanut butter and jelly sandwich for after-school snacking.

The Mix 'N Scraper® is one of three scrapers available from The Pampered Chef. Because it's a large spoon and spatula all in one, it's great for mixing heavy batters and scraping out bowls. The Classic Scraper is a traditional size and the scraper you'll turn to most often for general cooking needs. The Skinny Scraper is smallest and is the perfect tool for easily removing contents from cans and jars. All three scrapers are heat-safe up to 650°F, and can be used to stir hot foods when cooking in pans or skillets.
