Oatmeal Chocolate Raisin Cookies

Fill the cookie jar with homemade treats like these and watch the smiles begin.

Ingredients

  • 1½ cups (375 mL) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) baking soda
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) cinnamon
  • 1 cup (250 mL) butter or margarine, softened
  • ¾ cup (175 mL) packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup (125 mL) granulated sugar
  • 2   eggs
  • 2¾ cups (650 mL) old-fashioned or quick oats
  • 1½ cups (375 mL) chocolate-covered raisins
  • 1 cup (250 mL) chopped pecans (optional)

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a small mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and cinnamon; mix well and set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugars until creamy. Add the eggs and beat well. Add the flour mixture; mix well. Stir in the oats, raisins, and pecans (if using).
  3. Using the Medium Scoop, drop level scoops of the dough, 2" (5 cm) apart, onto the Rectangle Stone. Flatten the dough slightly.
  4. Bake for 13-15 minutes or until the cookie edges are golden brown. Cool for 3-5 minutes on the stone then remove to a cooling rack. Cool the cookies completely. Repeat with the remaining dough. Store the cookies in a tightly covered container.
