Chocolate-Dipped Spoons

Dipped in silky-smooth chocolate, our Bamboo Spooners make a wonderful gift for someone special.


  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate morsels
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
  • Colored sprinkles or nonpareils (optional)
  • 18 assorted cookies such as butter cookies, vanilla wafers, cookie sticks or shortbread cookies


  1. Place chocolate morsels and oil in Small Micro-Cooker®. Do not cover. Microwave on HIGH 1 minute; stir with Skinny Scraper. Continue to microwave 10 seconds at a time, stirring after each 10 seconds, just until morsels are melted when stirred. Cover large tray with wax paper. 

  2. Holding handle of Micro-Cooker, tip container slightly toward you as you dip each Bamboo Spooner™ into chocolate. Twist Spooner to evenly coat the bowl of the spoon. After dipping, gently tap handle of Spooner against edge of Micro-Cooker to remove the extra chocolate. Place Spooners on the wax paper. Sprinkle with decorations before chocolate sets. (If chocolate mixture becomes too thick for dipping, microwave on HIGH 10 seconds; stir and continue.) 

  3. One at a time, dip half of each cookie in remaining chocolate. Scrape bottom of cookie across top edge of Micro-Cooker to remove the extra chocolate. Place on wax paper and decorate, if desired. Refrigerate Spooners and cookies 30 minutes to allow chocolate to set up. 

  4. To give as gifts, wrap each Spooner separately in cellophane and tie with a ribbon. Package cookies as desired. Store Spooners and cookies in a cool dry place. Use Chocolate-Dipped Spoons to stir coffee or hot chocolate.

Cook's Tips:

Mint flavored semi-sweet chocolate morsels or milk chocolate morsels can also be used.
