Chocolate Fantasy Cake

Chocolate lovers will fall for this sinfully rich-tasting cake. Baked moist and tender in your Stoneware Baker, it’s the perfect size for company.


  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup 70% vegetable oil spread
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2   eggs
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2  teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 tablespoons skim milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon 70% vegetable oil spread


  1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Lightly brush Rectangular Baker with vegetable oil. In Classic Batter Bowl, combine flour and sugar. Combine water, spread and cocoa powder in (1.5-qt.) Saucepan; bring to a boil. Add to flour mixture stirring until well blended. Add remaining cake ingredients; mix well. Pour into prepared baker. Bake 20-25 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Frost cake while still warm.

  2. For frosting, combine powdered sugar and cocoa powder in Small Batter Bowl. Add milk, vanilla and melted spread; stir until smooth. Spread over warm cake with All-Purpose Spreader. Cool; cut into squares.
