Brain Freeze

You'll love the smooth texture and fruity flavors of these icy homemade treats!

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup frozen grape juice concentrate
  • 3 containers (8 ounces each) vanilla low-fat yogurt

Directions

  1. In Classic Batter Bowl, mix frozen concentrate with Stainless Whisk until smooth and slightly thawed. Whisk in yogurt until completely blended. 

  2. Divide mixture evenly among 2 Ice Shaver Tubs and cover with lids. Place tubs and Chillzanne® Mini-Bowl in freezer and freeze until firm (about 6 hours). 

  3. Place Chillzanne® Mini-Bowl under Ice Shaver to catch shavings. Remove frozen mixture from tubs and shave with Ice Shaver. Scoop shaved ice into serving dishes using Medium Scoop.

Cook's Tips:

Frozen juice concentrates usually come in 12 ounce cans. When using 3/4 cup concentrate for this recipe, the remaining juice concentrate can be mixed with 2 cups water in our Quick-Stir® Pitcher.

Variations: Pink Punch Brain Freeze: Use frozen fruit punch concentrate instead of grape juice concentrate.

Pineapple Brain Freeze: Use frozen pineapple or pineapple-banana juice concentrate instead of grape juice concentrate.

Brain Freeze Banana Splits: Make 1 tub each of Brain Freeze, Pink Punch Brain Freeze and Pineapple Brain Freeze using 1 container vanilla yogurt and 1/4 cup juice concentrate for each tub. Using My Safe Cutter, cut 4 peeled bananas in half lengthwise. Place 2 banana halves in each of 4 banana split dishes. Shave mixtures with Ice Shaver. Top each banana with 1 scoop each of all 3 flavors. Decorate with strawberries, maraschino cherries or nuts, if you like.
