Homemade Pumpkin Pie Dog Treats
These pumpkin-packed homemade treats are the perfect way to keep the tail wags coming. They’re wholesome, easy to make, and full of fall flavor your furry friend will drool over.
Ingredients
- 1 cup (250 mL) all-purpose flour
- 1 cup (250 mL) oat flour
- ¼ cup (60 mL) rolled oats
- ½ cup (125 mL) canned pumpkin purée
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) vegetable oil
- water, as needed
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, oat flour, rolled oats, ½ cup (125 ml) pumpkin purée, and oil. Stir until a dough begins to form. The mixture may appear dry, but it should hold its shape when squeezed. If it seems too dry to hold together, add water, 1 tbsp (15 mL) at a time, until it comes together.
- Turn the dough out onto a surface and knead briefly until smooth. Roll the dough to ¼” (6 mm) thickness and cut with a 2” (5 cm) cookie cutter. Transfer the treats to a baking sheet, spacing them 1” (2.5 cm) apart. Reroll scraps as needed.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until golden brown and firm to the touch. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Yield:
- 52 servings
