Ingredients
1 tbsp (15 mL) oil 1 can (28 oz./794 mL) diced tomatoes, undrained 1 onion, chopped 1 can (15 oz./398 mL) black beans or kidney beans, drained and rinsed 1 lb. (450 g) ground beef or ground turkey 1 cup (250 mL) water 1 pkt. Chili Meal Mix Optional: Sour cream, sliced green onions, grated cheddar cheese
Pressure Cooker Directions
- 1. Set an electric pressure cooker to SEAR and press START. Heat 1 tbsp (15 mL) oil in the inner pot for 3 minutes.
- 2. Add 1 chopped onion; cook and stir about 3 minutes. Add 1 lb. (450 g) ground beef or ground turkey; cook until well browned, 5-7 minutes.
- 3. Add:
- 1 pkt Chili Meal Mix
- 1 can (28 oz./794 mL) diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 can (15 oz./398 mL) black beans or kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 cup (250 mL) water
- 4. Lock the lid and select the SOUP/STOCK setting. Adjust the time to 8 minutes and press START.
- 5. When the timer is up, press CANCEL. Let the steam release naturally for 10 minutes. Press the steam-release button to release any remaining pressure.
Slow Cooker Directions
- 1. Heat 1 tbsp (15 mL) oil on medium heat for 3-4 minutes.
- 2. Add 1 chopped onion and cook about 4-5 minutes until softened. Add 1 lb. (450 g) ground beef or ground turkey, and cook until browned 7-8 minutes.
- 3. Add:
- 1 pkt. Chili Meal Mix
- 1 can (28 oz./794 mL) diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 can (15 oz./398 mL) black beans or kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 4. Cook on HIGH for 4 hours or LOW for 8.
For Tacos, add 2 tbsp (30 mL) while browning your meat.
To make vegetarian, add double the beans. Try 1 can black beans and 1 can kidney, or two of both!
Ingredients: Spices (chili pepper, cumin, black pepper, oregano), brown sugar, salt, dehydrated red bell pepper, dehydrated green bell pepper, garlic powder, silicon dioxide (anti-caking agent).
