Brownies
Ingredients
- Oil for greasing
- ½ cup (125 mL) butter (1 stick)
- 1 cup (250 mL) sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp (5 mL) vanilla extract
- ¾ cup (175 mL) flour
- ¼ cup (60 mL) cocoa powder
- ½ tsp (2 mL) salt
- ½ cup (125 mL) chocolate chips or chopped nuts
- 1 cup (250 mL) prepared fudge frosting
- 3-4 strawberries, stemmed
- Rainbow sprinkles
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350° F (175°C) and brush the pan with oil.
- Melt the butter in a large microwave-safe bowl. Add the sugar, eggs, and vanilla to the bowl. Whisk until smooth.
- Add the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and chocolate chips or chopped nuts, if you’d like. Mix until well combined.
- Pour the batter into the pan and spread evenly. Bake for 27–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted 1" (2.5 cm) from the edge comes out clean. Cool completely on a wire rack.
- Slice the strawberries with the Serrated Nylon Knife.
- Spread the frosting onto the cooled brownie. Place the strawberries onto the brownies while the frosting is still wet and top with sprinkles.
- Use the Serrated Nylon Knife to slice the brownies.
