Super-Quick Garlic Bread


  • 1 loaf Italian bread (10-12 ounces/ 300-350 g)
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) butter or margarine, melted
  • 1 tablespoon (15 mL) snipped fresh basil leaves or 1 teaspoon (5 mL) dried basil leaves
  • 2   garlic cloves, pressed
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1 mL) salt


  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Using Bread Knife, cut bread into 1-inch-thick slices. Place bread slices on Medium Round Stone.

  2. Melt butter in (1.5-qt) Saucepan over low heat. Add garlic pressed with Garlic Press, basil and salt to butter; mix well. Brush butter mixture on both sides of bread slices using Chef's Silicone Basting Brush. Bake 13-15 minutes or until bread is crisp around edges. Serve hot.
