Simple Creamy Dressing & Variations

Delicious on its own, as a base for our ranch dressing, or your own creations!

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup (175 mL) low-fat buttermilk
  • ¾ cup (175 mL) Greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp (15 mL) white wine vinegar
  • 2 tsp (10 mL) sugar
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) Dijon mustard
  • ½ tsp (2 mL) salt
  • ¼ tsp (1 mL) black pepper
Variations Ingredients
Ranch Dressing
  • ¾ cup (175 mL) low-fat buttermilk
  • ¾ cup (175 mL) Greek Yogurt
  • 1 tbsp (15 mL) white wine vinegar
  • 2 tsp (10 mL) sugar
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) Dijon mustard
  • ½ tsp (2 mL) salt
  • ¼ tsp (1 mL) black pepper
  • 2 tbsp (30 mL) fresh chives, finely chopped (Cook's Tips)
  • ¼ tsp (1 mL) garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp (1 mL) onion powder
Honey Mustard Dressing
  • ½ cup (125 mL) low-fat buttermilk (See Cook's Tips)
  • ¾ cup (175 mL) Greek yogurt
  • ¼ cup (60 mL) yellow mustard
  • ¼ cup (60 mL) honey
  • 1 tbsp (15 mL) white wine vinegar
  • ½ tsp (2 mL) salt
  • ¼ tsp (1 mL) paprika

Directions

  1. Add all the ingredients to the Measure, Mix & Pour®, twist on the lid, and shake until combined.

Yield:

  • 3¼ cups (300 mL)
      servings

Cook's Tips:

To make buttermilk, mix ½ cup (125 mL) milk with ½ tbsp (7 mL) vinegar or lemon juice. Stir and let stand for 10–15 minutes.

You can substitute 1 tbsp (15 mL) dried chives for fresh chives.

The Ranch and Honey Mustard variations of this dressing each make slightly more—about 1¾ cups (425 mL)

Shake dressing well before serving.
