Sauté Pan Mini Cake


  • 1 teaspoon solid vegetable shortening, butter or margarine
  • 1 teaspoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 package (9 ounces) yellow cake mix or 1 2/3 cups devil's food cake mix (plus ingredients to make cake)
  •  Quick Ganache (optional, see below)


  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour bottom and sides of Stainless (8-in.) Sauté Pan, tapping out excess flour. Prepare cake mix according to package directions. Pour batter over bottom of Sauté Pan, spreading evenly.

  2. Bake, uncovered, according to package directions using time range for 8-inch cake pan or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Using Oven Mitts, carefully remove pan to Stackable Cooling Rack; cool according to package directions. Loosen edges of cake; carefully invert cake onto Simple Additions® Dinner Plate. If desired, spread Quick Ganache over top of cake.

Cook's Tips:

Quick Ganache: In Small Batter Bowl, combine 1/2 cup thawed, frozen whipped topping and 1/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate morsels. Microwave on HIGH 10-20 seconds, stirring after each 10-second interval, until melted and smooth.
