Cheese Ball Appetizers

Add big color, flavor, and fun to the usual cheese platter with easy flavor combinations. Check out four of our favorite flavor combos.


  • 1 pkg (8 oz/250 g) cream cheese
  • 1 cup (8 oz/250 g) grated cheese of your choice (see chart)
  • 1 tbsp (15 mL) seasoning of your choice (see chart)
Flavor Chart Cheese Rub Coating
Crunchy Taco Cheddar cheese Everything Taco Seasoning 2 cups (500 mL) nacho-flavored chips
Three Onion & Parsley Swiss cheese Three Onion Rub 1 cup (250 mL) loosely packed fresh parsley
Greek Pistachio Feta cheese Greek Rub 1 cup (250 mL) pistachios
Lemon Garlic Parmesan cheese Lemon Garlic Rub 1 cup (250 mL) toasted pine nuts


  1. Add the cream cheese, grated cheese, and seasoning to the bowl of the Deluxe Stand Mixer. Select BEAT for 1 minute.
  2. Coarsely process the coating in the Manual Food Processor. Transfer to a single Coating Tray.
  3. Line a Cookie Sheet with parchment paper. Using a Small Scoop, place about 24 level scoops of cheese mixture onto the cookie sheet.
  4. Roll the cheese balls in the coating then return them to the cookie sheet.
  5. Refrigerate for 30 minutes, or until firm. Serve with assorted crackers or vegetables.

Cook's Tips:

Create a band of topping on the cheese ball by rolling the ball in the mixture in a straight line so only the center is coated.
