Spiced Cherry Compote

2   tbsp (30 mL) fresh orange juice
1   can (19 oz or 540 mL) cherry pie filling
1 1/2   tsp (7 mL) pumpkin pie spice
1   tbsp (15 mL) orange zest
   Pound cake, brownies or ice cream (optional)
  1. In (2-qt./2-L) Saucepan, combine orange juice, pie filling and pumpkin pie spice. Using Small Spoon, cook and stir over medium heat 2-3 minutes or until mixture comes to a boil; remove from heat and stir in zest. Serve warm compote over pound cake, brownies or ice cream, if desired.

Yield: 8 servings (about 2 cups/500 mL)
