Batter Bowl Baseball Cap Cake



Ingredients:
   Vegetable shortening and flour for greasing bowl
12/3   cups (400 mL) yellow or devilís food cake mix from a (15.25-16.5 oz or 510 g) package
1/2   cup (125 mL) water
1   egg
2-3   cups (500-750 mL) prepared white frosting
   Food coloring
Directions:
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Spray Small Batter Bowl with nonstick cooking spray. Prepare cake mix according to package directions in a separate bowl. Pour into batter bowl.
  2. Bake 35-45 minutes or until wooden pick into center comes out clean. Cool cake in batter bowl on a cooling rack for 15 minutes. Loosen cake and gently turn out onto cooling rack. Cool completely.
  3. Trim off rounded bottom/wide end of cake to create a flat base. Then slice 1-in. (2.5 cm) from the bottom to form the capís bill. Place bill on a serving platter. Tint frosting with desired food coloring and frost bill. Place the dome-shaped part of cake on top of bill. Decorate as desired to create a baseball cap.
