Creative Ideas for Use
Mini Cut-out Cookies: Roll out cookie dough as recipe directs and cut into shapes using cutters. Bake as recipe directs.
Window Cookies: Roll out cookie dough as recipe directs. Cut into shapes using 2 1/2-inch/ 6 cm diameter cookie cutter. Cut shapes from centers of cookies with cutters. Bake as recipe directs.
Double-Crust Pie: Roll pie crust to fit top of pie. Cut several shapes from center of top crust using cutters. Form crust over pie. Bake as recipe directs.
Decorative Pie Crust: Roll pie crust for single- or double-crust pie. Trim edge of pie crust to 1 inch/ 2.5 cm and fold under along rim of pie plate. Moisten edge of crust with water or lightly beaten egg white. Using cutters, cut shapes from excess pie crust and press gently over rim to create a decorative edge. Bake as recipe directs.
Chocolate Shapes: Spread melted semi-sweet chocolate morsels or almond bark onto a sheet of parchment paper. When chocolate is set, cut into shapes using cutters. Carefully remove shapes from parchment paper. Use to garnish desserts.
Deli Meat or Cheese Shapes: Use cutters to cut shapes from sliced bologna, turkey breast, ham or cheese. If using block cheese, cut cheese into 1/2-inch/ 1 cm thick slices; cut into shapes using cutters.
